Our Mission
We, the people of Monument CO, are dedicated to the preservation of our town, and community, as a safe place for small businesses and families. In that regard, we are opposed to the opening of a methadone dispensary in Historic Downtown Monument, in close proximity to homes, businesses, schools, and our towns most popular park. We value the safety of our children, and will continue to work to maintain a town in which we know our children are safe to play and learn, free from the negative influences that normally are reserved for large cities. We intend to preserve our small town feel and quiet low crime neighborhoods, and are willing to resist any attempt to change that.

Latest NewsUPDATE:
The Aug 6 meeting HAS BEEN MOVED to Aug 10th at the Lewis-Palmer administration building (where the open forum with the "Clinic" representatives was held. Please pass this information al The time is coming when we will be prepared to begin making our push! Over the next week we will be making a few announcements and keeping everyone in the loop as to what is to come. While I cannot give details just yet, I am excited to say that things will be moving forward in a very good way. I am sure we will win this battle, and with the massive support that you, the community, continue to give us, it only cements that reality. Continue to tell your family, friends, and neighbors about who we are and why we are fighting. Now is the time to stay vigilant! I am very much looking forward to working with all of you in the community in the near future to secure our beautiful town from threats like the one we are fighting right now.
It has been brought to our attention that we are having the effect we desired. We are not through this yet but we are moving in the right direction. I am unsure what I am allowed to specify at this juncture, but that being said, we do have things going on and they are working in our favor.
We must remain vigilant, civil, and show people that we, The Town of Monument, are good, upstanding citizens. Keep that in mind when dealing with others, you may be representing our group as a whole because we are a group of grassroots citizens. With that in mind, remember to stay civil, keep your emotions in check, and use facts and evidence to prove a point. We will win, and we will do so by taking the high road. Let us be a shining example to other communities of how by organizing as concerned, caring citizens, we can fight and win against the odds. Let us be who people look to for inspiration when similar occurrences come to their town, let us show people how to win these battles without the need for an angry mob. July 13th Public MeetingOn July 13th 2015 we attended a meeting at School District 38 Headquarters, aka "Big Red," with representatives of Colonial Management Group, LP. who is attempting to open the methadone dispensary in our town. One high ranking official within the company, Mrs. Katie Peck, was in attendance. Mrs. Peck is the Director of Business Development and Government Affairs at Colonial Management Group, LP. Many concerns were voices, alternate locations given, and suggestions brought up by citizens and the towns representative to the state. The building was packed, and we showed we will not back down. As for now, our next big event will be our meeting with the Board of Adjustments that is currently slated for August 6th at 6:30 PM at Monument Town Hall, but this is subject to change.
